I have to say, I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. Last night was our JR. High Pillow Riot Nite! I've got a truckload of games for kids to do with their pillows and I have to say, Sumo Pillow was the one I laughed at most! All these Jr. Highers in XXLarge sweatshirts stuffed with pillows and let the sumo wrestling begin! Click here to see some pics from last night. HT to Dawn for taking pics last night!
Seriously, I think this is the coolest idea. It's not just about getting an iphone, but it's really utilizing the technology students interact with on a daily basis! Very cool!
I better get into starbucks early today to get my coffee before Jr. High tonight.
I've got a few more Psalms that our Jr. High students and our Edgers wrote! Here is one from our Jr. High guys, Brad, Michael, Darren and Ben:
"Walking beside God, the two of us together
alone in the universe with the King.
I'm lost in the shadow, He leads me toward the light
He opens his arms and embraces me
We are together in peace.
And from our Edgers with Darc and the Boys we have a rewrite of Psalm 5 they call it
Psalm 5.5
"Yo what's up Lord, we need you to save us
Listen to our cries oh King because we pray
We pray for our request and hope you answer them
You do not tolerate our badness
bad people won't be able to stand in your presence
because they sin evil like
You will destroy evil
You love me so much you let me come into your house
I will praise you
Tell me which way to or I will die in my enemies hands
Give me a clear message through your angles which way to turn or I might die
All my enemies can speak are lies,
All they want to do is to destroy others
There talk is bad like the stinky garbage
May we all be caught for our guiltiness
Drive our enemies away and turn our sight and eyes to you.
A shout out to all you Bowditch students! You did an awesome job at Seussical last night. It was way to much fun watching all of you sing, dance and perform! Great job! It was also great seeing the rest of you students out supporting all your friends!
Had a great time at The Core with our leaders on Saturday! Here is one of the video's they showed! Great stuff! If you can go and take your leadership team, do it!
As we've been teaching through through the Bible this year, we stopped in the book of Psalms on Sunday and had our Edgers and Jr. Highers either rewrite or write their own Psalm. So I thought I'd post a few of them over the next few days. Some were serious and some were funny!
Lesley's Group wrote this:

This is soooo Jr. High Boys! I wanna see how this plays out!
Did you know that today Mr. Rodgers celebrates 40 years of being on TV? His show is the longest running show on PBS. Mr. Rodgers has impacted a lot of little kids over the years!
Sorry I haven't posted the last few days but I've been down for the count with the flu and a 102 fever. I hate being sick! I haven't even had the energy to type a blogpost.
