Finishing
As a spectator of a triathlon, it amazes me that people do this sport for fun. Don't get me wrong, I love to swim and bike, I'm not very fond of running much anymore, but I watch these people work so hard and I would think there is nothing more rewarding than crossing the finish line. I watched people jump into others arms, I watched them cry, smile and let out a big "ya hoo." I was so proud of my friends who all finished and did well on their times. After talking to a few of the girls and listening or should I say eavesdropping on other conversation, I heard over and over, "I want to finish well." Of course I couldn't help but think of the spiritual implications that phrase has. I know I've wanted to finish well with either projects or jobs, but more importantly, I want to finish well with my creator, God. I want to finish well with Him. And I hope my response when I hit the finish line will be that of my friend in the picture, arms raised high, rejoicing in the fact that I have finished the race and I stand before God hands raised in the air praising Him.
I like it!
