On Thursday I finally scored a Wii for the Jr. High Ministry. It took me 6 months to find one for our High School Ministry and 8 months to find one for Jr. High! I walked into Costco and BAM! There it was a Wii! We've also been on the hunt for Mario Kart for several months. No where to be found! BAM! Went to Best Buy and they had them! I can't wait to try Mario Kart out!
The great part about today is I'm hanging out in Santa Cruz because it's an incredibly gorgeous day and right now it's 76 degrees. The bummer part is getting here! I own a 99 civic coupe. The reason I bought a small car in 1999 was to save on gas. I just paid over $45 for a tank of gas on a Honda Civic! There is something wrong with that! I guess I won't be hanging out in Santa Cruz too often this summer because of the gas prices!
Last night I headed down to the Kings Academy to see a bunch of our students in the play, "Meet Me In St. Louis." Kings always does a fantastic job with their drama department and I thought the students did a fantastic job performing! It was so much fun watching Hannah and Sarah, who have been a part of the drama program since Jr. High, take lead roles! You girls did awesome. Two of our Jr. Highers were in the play as well! Isabella and Kate were wonderful! I can't forget the tech crew either because another one of our Jr. Highers, Nathaniel, did a fabulous job with lighting! I wish I had pictures with all of you last night, but only got one! :(
If you read this blog you know I'm a huge Dancing With the Stars fan. So here are my final 3: I think it's going to be between Mario, Jason Taylor and my hometown, Fremont girl, Kristi Yamaguchi. I think Kristi is going to take it all!
It's that time of year again! We've already celebrated in Jr. High with our Impossible Shot Game. It's time to pick your final four! Here are mine: North Carolina, Kansas, Stanford, UCLA. I had a hard time choosing between UCLA and Duke. So sorry Jenni, don't be mad that I didn't choose Duke!
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE daylight savings time. What I hate is losing an hour of sleep before a Sunday. Sunday is one of the longest and most draining days for me. If you want a little insight into pastors and Sundays, read Perry Noble's Post. I'm almost tempted to start a Facebook group to move the daylight savings day to Saturday!
I better get into starbucks early today to get my coffee before Jr. High tonight.
Did you know that today Mr. Rodgers celebrates 40 years of being on TV? His show is the longest running show on PBS. Mr. Rodgers has impacted a lot of little kids over the years!
