A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to go see the next movie in the Narnia Series: The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader! I was with a group of pastors getting a pre-screening and then giving input through a survey. I'm a huge fan of the books by C.S.Lewis and have enjoyed the movies, but Walden Media and Grace Hill Media have done an outstanding job with this third installment! I think this is the best movie they have made in the series. GO SEE THIS MOVIE! It opens on Friday!
It's Saturday morning and as I slowly wake up, I grab my computer to check the morning news and to see what has happened in the Twitter and Facebook world. My twitter page is filled with updates from a group of youth ministry friends who just went to Haiti for a week. Links to their pictures, video and stories of what God is doing. My heart is heavy with the devastation, yet filled with joy with what God is doing. I click to my facebook page and see the two extremes, status updates from the Youth Ministry Advance Team: Haiti to student and friend updates. People living their regular lives, people learning what a new normal will be.
The stories and pictures from some of my friends are devastating and amazing all at the same time. If you want to keep up with, pray for and hear what God is doing in Haiti you can follow some of the team at the following links: YMATH Facebook, for Twitter YMATH, and here are some different blogs you can check out: Youth Specialties, Adam Mclane, Marko, Tim Schmoyer, Anne Jackson,
The last two weeks have been crazy busy at the church! Way too many nights out and early morning meetins, lots of people to meet with. This always seems to be a tough time of year because we are winding down summer but at the same time gearing up for the fall! A couple of interesting things have happened over the last few weeks that I'm hoping to be able to share with you in a few days. It's those situations that have kept me busy in prayer and excited about the possibilities. Sorry to be vague. So yes, I'm still alive!
I hate it when I don't get to blog, but I've been crazy busy and with all the fires haven't been able to breath! That could be a problem! This week was full of youth ministry. We had our first Guys/Girls Study. I heard the guys had a good time and us girls did too. We tested out the Wii and Mario Kart, talked about appearance and then had some cake! One of our high school girls, Stephanie made me an awesome cake for my big 4-0! Thanks again Steph! It was YUMMY! The rest of the week has basically been about getting ready for high school summer camp! The High School Ministry is headed to Hume Lake in San Diego
