On Thursday I finally scored a Wii for the Jr. High Ministry. It took me 6 months to find one for our High School Ministry and 8 months to find one for Jr. High! I walked into Costco and BAM! There it was a Wii! We've also been on the hunt for Mario Kart for several months. No where to be found! BAM! Went to Best Buy and they had them! I can't wait to try Mario Kart out!
So on Tuesday I turn the Big 4-0! A friend of mine threw me a big bash today! Of course, it turned out to be the hottest day of the summer so far! We were sweatin' in 100 degree temps! That is hot for the Peninsula. But it was so much fun! It was fun to see all the folks stop buy throughout the afternoon and eat some yummy food, especially the BBQ! I felt very spoiled! Thanks to all of you who helped put the party on. I had a great time spending time with you! After the party, I jumped in the pool and then sat pool side reading all my birthday cards!
Today I'm taking our directors to a very serious and important meeting. We will be here for the afternoon.
I recently dusted off my mountain bike to start riding again. Took it to REI for a tune-up and got one of those fancy new gel seats. Today I decided to take it our for a spin and check out some of the levees in Redwood Shores. My bike has never felt so smooth. For whatever reason my seat didn't get tightened enough, so while I was on a dirt path, I was checking out my seat and wasn't watching the road and before I knew it a big gust of wind blew me to the edge of the levee and before I knew it, I was flying down the side of the levee into the sticker bushes and for just a moment, I thought I was going to hit the smelly bay water! But thankfully the sticker bushes stopped me before I hit the water. I can't believe I didn't biff it! I guess my mountain biking skills aren't so rusty after all.
Can't beat a recovery from Easter by the pool on a fabulous, sunny day!

Woke up this morning to find that bird outside my window! Ben identified it as a Peruvian Pelican. I've only seen santa cruz pelicans that look totally different! After living in San Carlos for so many years and encountering deer, skunks and racoons, pelicans are cool change of pace.
So I'm supposed to be working from home right now and I've been distracted by this huge bird! I had to get my camera out and photograph this bird because I've never seen anything like it! Does anyone know what kind of bird he is?
