What a gorgeous day in Santa Cruz! A quick lunch at the beach and now I am off to a new coffee shop called Fins.
Kudos to the pilot who handled this plan in the wind.
On my way home from Washington, I drove by Mt. Shasta. There is a small lake tucked off of I5 called Lake Siskyou. Peninsula Bible Church has had an all church camping trip there for about 20 years. For about 7 of those years I would go and lead worship for the evening time together. So on my way back, I stopped at Camp PBC for a while and saw old friends. I was so much fun to see new faces who are being trained to take on ministry. If you like to camp, check this place out. The lake is crystal clear and Mt Shasta stands in the background. It's beautiful.
One of my friends introduced me to "Dutch Brothers." They are a coffee company in southern Oregon! I had to stop and have a "milky way" coffee! MMMMMMM MMMMMMM good! So the next time you drive through Oregon on I5 stop and have some coffee at Dutch Brothers.
While in Washington, we went to a small beach town called Long Beach. Even though it was a small town it boasted of several "World's Largests." They have the world's largest frying pan that they use for their annual clam bake and the world's largest beach!
Today I leave to drive here to visit family! I'm not sure what kind of internet access I'll have so it may be a few days until I blog again.
Darc and I hung out a lot by the pool! Some mutual friends of ours came with their boys to partake in the sun and fun! They live in Trukee and Jason is a youth pastor there! With Northstar turning into a resort, they have some great pool options!
When I was a kid my mom used to get this magazine called "Country." Every month they would have section entitled "God's Country." Usually it was a beautiful place with beautiful scenery. This is a shot of the backside of Northstar.
During my trip, I got to kayak on Lake Tahoe! I forget how clear and blue that lake is. It's breathtaking! Even at some of the deepest levels of the lake where I was kayaking, you could see the bottom! Which reminds me: we've been talking in our pastors meeting about getting a kayak. Justin, I think we really need to get a kayak!
