On Thursday I finally scored a Wii for the Jr. High Ministry. It took me 6 months to find one for our High School Ministry and 8 months to find one for Jr. High! I walked into Costco and BAM! There it was a Wii! We've also been on the hunt for Mario Kart for several months. No where to be found! BAM! Went to Best Buy and they had them! I can't wait to try Mario Kart out!
Yesterday, two of our three summer interns started. So I took them to the Bowditch Gradution. On the way to graduation Stephen spotted this boat with my name on it! So I had to get a picture next to the boat! The problem was the flag kept blocking my name. Of course, there was no wind to be found at that moment, so Jessica and Stephen were trying to blow wind so the flag would move so Darc could take the picture! Interns! You gotta love them!
I'm really excited because our Summer Interns start today. I've been waiting to start our Summer Intern Ministry for a number of years and this is the summer that it actually happens. I'm excited to have some fresh faces be a part of our ministry, but I'm also excited because our summer interns are former students. Our Summer Internships are specifically designed for college students who have been a part of our Student Ministry. So Stephen, Jessica and Victor, I'm really excited you are joining our team and this summer is going to be HOT!
Thank goodness the weekend is over! It started with our 8th grade grad dinner, which was a lot of fun. We went back into the picture vault and put this little video together! It's about 12 minutes long.
Sunday, I headed back to the church, I should have just slept there! Had The Edge and Jr. High and then it was off to The Edge Family BBQ. We do a little celebration for our 6th graders since they will be moving up to Jr. High in a few weeks!
I headed back from the BBQ with a van load of BBQ stuff to unload, only to turn around and take our High School Ministry to the beach! It was awesome weather and we had a ton of high school kids. It was a lot of fun and there is nothing better than hanging out with high school kids and eating pizza on the beach! A very fun weekend, but an exhausting one!

If you are a reader of this blog you know that this year our youth ministry took up a huge challenge to teach through the whole bible and to weave God's plan for redemption through each lesson. I have to say, this has been the most challenging teaching series I have ever tackled. Thanks be to God I took a survey through the Old Testament with Dr. Van Gemeren at Trinity! (Thank you for imparting your wisdom and knowledge Dr. V.) If I hadn't taken that class, our series would just be a glimps at major characters of the Bible and typical Bible stories. I just finished up my talk on Jeremiah and can't wait to talk about the New Covenant in Jeremiah 31 and I'm hoping to get me hands on a pottery wheel and someone who works with pottery.
Today is clean out the office day to get ready for summer! Now that Easter is over it's time to get to all those files and clean stuff out to make room for summer fun and summer interns. So I'm sure I'll be up to my neck in paperwork and shredding! Woo Hoo!

Our Good Friday service is this evening at 5 pm. Our tradition is to have people in our body speak about the last 7 phrases Jesus spoke while on the cross and what those phrases mean to them. Our people share some amazing thoughts and insights and always do a fabulous job! Come out and hear Sergio Nunez De Arco, Winifred Jew, Carolyn Koontz, Brett McCollum, Kristin Melli, Brianna Cutter and Ben Melli. There will also be some off the hook worship too!
