You Won't Want To Miss This Book

I'm so excited for my friend Wanda! We were sitting around the table at our staff meeting when our lead pastor pulls out this new children's book called Christmas Is A Birthday Story by Wanda Roane.  I was like NO WAY!!  Wanda is a fantastic woman of God and an incredible writer and poet.  So I'm going to shamelessly plug her first children's book!  Go over to Amazon and pre-order it!  You won't be disappointed! Congrats Wanda!

A Little Thanksgiving Fun

We have shown this video a few times in Jr. High.  We didn't show it this year but the kids begged for it! So here ya go gang!

Pumpkin Carving Riot Nite

On Tuesday we had our annual Pumpkin Carving Riot Nite in Jr. High!  This is always a big night for us with lots of kids and their friends.  This year didn't disappoint!  I love watching the kids creativity and what they come up with to carve on their pumpkins.  This year, we had quite the political pumpkins. McCain and Obahma showed up as well as a "yes on prop 8" pumpkin as well as "nobahma."  I think this is the first year in 9 years our pumpkins have been so political.  We also had the usual happy and sad pumpkins, pumpkins throwing up their own guts and a few skater pumpkins too!  All in all a good night!

A BHAG

Many of you may have heard the term BHAG.  I heard it for the first time about 7 years ago when the pastors and elders of our church sat down one weekend to dream and vision about CPC.  BHAG refers to Big, Hairy, Audacious, Goals.  All those years ago our leadership envisioned some BIG BHAGS!  This morning in Jr. High I told our students about our new service project.  Our Jr. Highers are going to be heading up Operation Christmas Child.  I'm excited about this, because I think this is an awesome opportunity for Jr. Highers to serve in our church, but also open up their worldview.  As I explained Operation Christmas Child, I could see the excitement in their faces. I explained what a BHAG was and I then asked them to to come up with a BHAG regarding our new service project.  Well they did!  So watch out CPC, Jr. High has a goal for you and I can't wait to see what God does with it!  Our Jr. Highers are going to encourage our body to give 1000 filled boxes for Operation Christmas Child!  So CPC are you up for the challenge?

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July!  I'm driving one of the vans of high school students home from summer camp. Hope to make it from San Diego to Foster City in time for some fireworks! Here is a pic I took from last years Foster City show.
