Hanging at the Pool

Darc and I hung out a lot by the pool! Some mutual friends of ours came with their boys to partake in the sun and fun! They live in Trukee and Jason is a youth pastor there! With Northstar turning into a resort, they have some great pool options!

God's Country

When I was a kid my mom used to get this magazine called "Country." Every month they would have section entitled "God's Country." Usually it was a beautiful place with beautiful scenery. This is a shot of the backside of Northstar.

Clear Blue

During my trip, I got to kayak on Lake Tahoe! I forget how clear and blue that lake is. It's breathtaking! Even at some of the deepest levels of the lake where I was kayaking, you could see the bottom! Which reminds me: we've been talking in our pastors meeting about getting a kayak. Justin, I think we really need to get a kayak!

What a Great Week

I've been in Tahoe all week. Our Jr. High Director and myself took a trip to play in Tahoe and see mutual friends. We stayed at Northstar Resort. I grew up staying, playing and skiing at Northstar with my family. It has changed a lot. It used to be just a great family ski place, now it's a resort! Darc and I went skiing there for a day trip last winter and saw the new village which looks like a page from "the lifestyles of the rich and famous." She thought we were staying here.Download 366897.jpg These places go for almost 2 million! We actually stayed here!Download accommodations.jpg It was pretty funny seeing her face when she realized we weren't staying with the rich and famous!

Not Impressed

So I'm trying to leave for Tahoe and bought one of those fastrak passes for the bridges at Costco.  I've been trying to register the dumb thing for 2 days now and nothing.  Their custormer service is no help either!

Twice in a Lifetime?

WOW! Can you believe this picture. Glad I don't live on that side of the Bay anyomore. I lived right off the exit of this freeway you see in this picture! Who would have thought I would see two collapsed freeways in one lifetime in the same area!

A Little Vacation Time

I realized I needed to do two things early in 2007. Take some much needed vacation and clean my attic. Some one asked where I was going on my vacation, I'll tell you: I'm going to an exotic place, full of fun and recreation. My attic. Yes, my attic needs to be cleaned out! I'm afraid all the stuff is going to fall through the ceiling one of these days. So that is my project this vacation!

Taking a Break

This week I had the opportunity to hang out with some great friends, Jenn and Jason. Jenn was an intern for me at a previous church and Jason is a youth pastor in Truckee. They have three of the cutest little boys! It has been so fun to watch this young family tackle youth ministry, family, friends, and raising three little guys. Thanks Jenn and Jason for your hospitality and the great time with you and your boys! It has been such a joy to be a part of their lives and now the lives of their boys!
